AmTrust Buys AmeriHealth, Boosting Comp Book in Pa. and N.J.

Independence Health Group announced Friday that it has signed a stock purchase agreement to sell its AmeriHealth Casualty Insurance Co. to AmTrust Financial Services. AmTrust said in a separate press release that it is paying approximately $90 million for AmeriHealth, which offers workers' compensation insurance to employers in the Mid-Atlantic region.
