WCIRB Moves Forward With Telecommuter Classification, Will Define Rate in August

The California Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau is moving forward with its plans to submit a Jan. 1, 2021, regulatory filing that includes a new classification for telecommuters after two committees gave their blessings last week. The bureau’s next step? Defining the new classification’s pure premium rate, which could mirror the clerical office rate of 23 cents per $100 of payroll, WCIRB officials said.
