The Montana State Fund closed Monday to give workers a chance to arrange child care after the governor shut down schools, according to a report by the Great Falls Tribune.

MSF's website on Monday simply said the carrier was closed.

But Laurence Hubbard, president and chief executive officer, reportedly told the Tribune that State Fund will reopen Tuesday. He also said he doesn't expect the one-day closure to disrupt policyholders or injured workers.

The decision to close the State Fund was announced just hours after Gov. Steve Bullock issued executive orders to close K-12 schools for two weeks and suspended visitation to nursing homes to slow the spread of coronavirus. Montana’s public schools will remain closed until March 27.
