State workers' compensation agencies have adapted well to the COVID-19 reality, from managing remote employees to setting up virtual hearings to handling a vast expansion in presumptions for sickened frontline workers.
But a big impact on comp boards and commissions may not be felt until months from now, when budgets could be slashed and revenue for second-injury funds takes a nosedive.
