Incident rates of total recordable nonfatal injuries and illnesses among private-sector workers fell to 2% in 2020 from 2.1% in 2019, according to a new report by the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation.
The average of two incidents per 100 full-time equivalent workers in Texas is lower than the national average of 2.7. The rate from 2020, which was the same as in 2018, is the lowest in a decade.
The DWC separately reported that of the approximately 178,600 nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses reported by private employers, 68,750, or 39%, resulted in days away from work....
