Two months into the coronavirus pandemic, and despite presumption rules in 13 states, uncertainty over the compensability of COVID-19 claims continues to abound and probably will for years to come, claimants' and defense attorneys said Thursday.
“It's the Wild West now all around the country because there are so many unknowns,” Scott Mach, an injury and claimants' lawyer in Kansas City, Missouri, said during a roundtable webinar discussion that examined the uncertainty issues. “I predict five to 10 years of litigation over this.”
