Pennsylvania lawmakers sent Gov. Josh Shapiro bills that would make direct deposit the default way to pay work comp benefits and make it easier for first responders to receive benefits for post-traumatic stress disorder.
The Senate on Tuesday signed off on amendments to SB 1232, by Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, R-Berks, authorizing direct deposit of benefits. The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed SB 365, by Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Beaver, exempting first responders from the requirement that a compensable PTSD claim arise from a physical injury or abnormal condition at the workplace.
