Prosecutors said a Los Angeles Unified School District police officer accused of staging a shooting was more interested in fortune and fame than protecting students during the first day of a non-jury trial on Friday.Jeff Stenroos said he was shot one time in the chest on Jan. 19 while investigating a report of a suspicious person near El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills.
