Report: Lawmakers Asked Not to Mess With Negotiated Reforms

Attorneys for labor and management asked that state lawmakers refrain from tweaking a negotiated work comp reform bill, according to a report by the Kansas Reflector. Senate Bill 430, introduced on Jan. 31 by the Senate Committee on Commerce, includes provisions creating offsets for injured workers receiving retirement payments or Social Security benefits and would require moving from the fourth to the sixth edition of the American Medical Association’s Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment.
