The Nevada Workers’ Compensation Section posted a questionnaire for small-business owners to comment on the potential economic effect of rules allowing some injured workers to accept a lump-sum settlement.
The WCS in December adopted emergency rules allowing workers injured after July 1, 2017, and who have a permanent partial disability of up to 30% to accept a lump sum payment.
On Thursday the agency said it was preparing a small-business impact statement and scheduling a rulemaking workshop on the lump-sum settlement regulations.
