Private workplaces in the United States continued a long-term decline in the number of occupational injuries and illnesses in 2015, dropping to a rate of three injuries and illnesses per 100 full-time workers, compared to 3.2 in 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The total number of injuries and illness reported by private industry employers was 2.9 million in 2015, about 48,000 less than the prior-year despite an increase in total hours worked, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration said.
