Martino has served on the national board for Kids’ Chance for more than 10 years, most recently as chairman of finance and grant committees. He’s also a member of the fundraising committee.

Martino said in a statement that the COVID pandemic will require state organizations to develop creative strategies to raise scholarship funds. Golf tournaments, bowling and other in-person fundraisers will not be feasible for a while, and technology will play a larger role in raising money, he said.

“Ken’s business acumen and experience with KCOA make him well qualified to guide the organization, especially in the midst of COVID-19,” said KCOA Executive Director Vicki Burkhart.

Officers serving with Martino include Kevin Turner, of Paradigm Catastrophic Care Management; Kevin Confetti, with the University of California; Suzanne Emmet, of Eastern Alliance Insurance Group; John Goldwater, with W.R. Berkley Corp.; and Bob Wilson, of WorkersCompensation.com.

Kids’ Chance of America organizations operating in 47 states have collectively awarded more than 7,300 scholarships totaling more than $24 million since 1988.
