The Oregon Workers' Compensation Division is forming a rulemaking committee to draft regulations to implement legislation allowing self-insured school districts to request an exemption to the requirement to post security deposits.
Self-insured employers and self-insured employer groups in Oregon are generally required to post a security deposit to pay for claims in the event they become insolvent. Oregon law expressly allows cities, counties and self-insured employer groups to apply for an exemption to the security deposit requirement.
