The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has posted an update to its Medicare secondary payer user guide, including new requirements on record numbers, new data transmission options and medical termination dates.
Until now, termination dates for ongoing responsibility for medicals, known as ORMs, could not be submitted more than six months in advance. The new guide explains that termination dates can now be set up to 75 years in the future, but a specific date is required, according to Dan Anders, chief compliance officer for Tower MSA Partners.
