Trial Court Erred By Granting Plea to the Jurisdiction

A trial court had subject matter jurisdiction to consider a carrier's non-payment of a medical provider's $600,000 lien, Texas' 1st District Court of Appeals concluded. The 1st DCA ruled that the 72nd District Court of Lubbock County erred in dismissing Covenant Health System's claims against Dean Foods Co., for failing to pay a greater share of the provider's $600,000 in medical bills.
