The reimbursement rate for medical and medical-legal travel will increase by 4 cents to 62.5 cents per mile, effective July 1, the California Division of Workers’ Compensation announced.
The increased rate must be paid for travel after that day regardless of the date of injury, the DWC said in a Newsline released Monday.
California Labor Code Section 4600, together with Government Code 19820 and state Department of Human Resources regulations, ties the rate to the standard mileage rate approved by the Internal Revenue Service.
