A Louisiana appellate court reinstated a widow’s claim for benefits under the Heart and Lung Act for her firefighter husband’s death from COVID-19. Case: Bacon v. Jefferson Parish Fire Department, No. 22-C-510, 12/19/2022, published. Facts: Eric Bacon worked for the Jefferson Parish Fire Department as a firefighter. He developed a lung condition that caused his death in December 2020.
