AmTrust Announces Additions to Cyber Insurance Team

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. announced the addition of Jeffrey Batt and Michelle Ingrassia to its cyber insurance team.

As vice president and head of cyber strategy and innovation at AmTrust, Batt will be responsible for AmTrust’s engagement with its customers and business partners and creating risk solutions.

He joins AmTrust from M&T Bank, where he was the cyber insurance practice leader. Previously, he was vice president in the Marsh Cyber Practice. From 2010-2016, he was an associate deputy general counsel at the U.S. Department of Defense.

Batt holds a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor’s from Hamilton College.

Ingrassia will join AmTrust as vice president of cyber product and underwriting management and will oversee the company’s cyber insurance offerings.

She comes to AmTrust after seven years with Beazley, where she was most recently an attorney for its cyber and technology division. Before that, she was with the Falcigno Group — now TFG Insurance Specialties — in Connecticut.

Ingrassia holds a law degree from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and a bachelor’s from George Washington University.

Batt and Ingrassia will work with Aaron Basilius, senior vice president of the cyber insurance team. Basilius joined AmTrust in July 2020 from Munich Re.

Basilius served as managing counsel for Beazley’s cyber and technology division from 2010-2018 and, prior to that, practiced law with Wilson Sonsini in Palo Alto, California.

He holds a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a bachelor’s from Brigham Young University.
