Strains, sprains, slips and falls continue to be the top causes of nonfatal workplace injuries, costing insurers and employers billions of dollars in 2020, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. said in its annual safety index report.
Overall, the top 10 types of accidents cost almost $53 billion in a year, up by $6 billion from the year before, the report shows.
“U.S. businesses spend more than $1 billion a week on serious, nonfatal workplace injuries,” the report said.
