CAAA Seeks Help From AG to Sue Trump Administration Over 'Illegal' Courthouse Arrests

The California Applicants’ Attorneys Association wants to sue the federal government after two immigrant workers were arrested at a Northern California courthouse in February, according to a letter sent to state Attorney General Xavier Becerra earlier this month. The March 6 letter, authored by CAAA President Joseph Capurro, asks Becerra and other Sacramento officials for assistance and resources in filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration for allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to conduct “illegal” arrests at courthouses in California.
