The American Tort Reform Foundation named the Florida Supreme Court number four on its list of "judicial hellholes" in 2014, pointing to a workers' compensation case as evidence of the court's unfair decisions.
The foundation pointed specifically to 12 cases and actions since the year 2000, saying that the court "repeatedly and consistently ruled in favor of expanding liability, provided plaintiffs with procedural advantages over defendants in litigation, and shown a lack of deference to the legislature’s role in determining public policy."...
