A Long Island physician and county official has been temporarily barred from treating injured workers following his arrest on sex-for-opioid charges.
Dr. William Spencer, an ear, nose and throat doctor in Huntington, was charged in an October sting operation in which an undercover police officer posed as a prostitute, according to several news reports. Spencer allegedly agreed in text messages to unlawfully provide the undercover police officer with oxycodone pills. He was arrested in a parking lot while trying to make the exchange, police said.
