The federal work safety agency announced it has distributed $10.5 million in occupational health training grants to 77 nonprofits across the country.
The money will fund training sessions for "vulnerable and hard-to-reach workers in high-hazard industries," aiming to teach them their rights under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and how to recognize safety hazards in the workplace, according to Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Dr. David Michaels.
