The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is suspending enforcement of confined spaces in construction for 60 days beginning on Aug. 3, according to a release from the Department of Labor.
Employers and contractors who “make good faith efforts to comply” with new standards set by OSHA will be granted a pass for 60 days. The temporary enforcement is due to multiple requests to the administration for additional time to train and acquire the equipment necessary to comply with the rule issued on May 4.
