The California Department of Industrial Relations on Friday published a report that it says shows the progress the agency and its contractor, Maximus Federal Services, have made with the new independent medical-review process created by Senate Bill 863.
The IMR provision in the 2012 reform bill was intended to eliminate what Labor Secretary David Lanier said in a statement was a "broken" medical-review process and replace it with an administrative process through which injured workers would receive timely care based on medical evidence.
