Torrington Man Arrested for Working at Paving Company while Receiving Disability Payments

A Torrington man was arrested and charged with workers’ compensation fraud for working while collecting disability benefits, the state Division of Criminal Justice announced Wednesday. Richard Perry, 54, collected more than $10,300 in workers’ compensation benefits after reportedly suffering a work-related injury at a scrap metal-recycling business in Waterbury in June 2013. In his claim, he said he was hurt while moving a 200-pound barrel of scrap metal.
