A workers' comp carrier has filed a lawsuit accusing former National Football League player Brad Culpepper of fraud in connection with a cumulative injury claim he filed against the three teams that once employed him, Scripps television stations reported Tuesday.
Culpepper filed a cumulative injury claim with the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board against the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010, before state lawmakers passed a statute that effectively barred such claims from out-of-state players.
