Most states' workers' compensation laws now require that generic versions of medications be used when possible, a way of shaving costs for insurers and employers.
But those generic drugs may not have been as low-priced as they should have been, according to two federal lawsuits — one backed by attorneys general in all 50 states — that were filed last week. Both allege that dozens of pharmaceutical companies engaged in price fixing.
