Bill Would Set Criteria for Determining Volunteer Wages

Indemnity benefits for certain volunteers in Missouri would be based on how much they earn at their regular jobs, under a bill introduced Tuesday. House Bill 2641, by Rep. Kyle Marquart, R-Washington, would require using the average weekly wage from regular employment to calculate time loss benefits owed to volunteer firefighters and volunteer emergency service responders.
