A law requiring the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and self-insured public employers to pay for diagnostic testing after air ambulance workers are exposed to certain hazards takes effect today.
Gov. Mike DeWine in March enacted SB 106, by Sen. Tim Schaffer, R-Lancaster, which requires the BWC or self-insured municipal employers to pay for the investigation to determine whether air ambulance workers suffered an injury or occupational disease from exposure to blood, bodily fluids, drugs or other chemical substances.
