Almost 30,000 COVID-19 workers' compensation claims have been filed in Florida since the pandemic began, and 43% have been denied, according to the latest report from the state Division of Workers' Compensation.
And monthly totals show that the number of COVID claims has fluctuated but is significantly lower than in July, when the state saw more than 8,000 filings. For December, the figure dropped to 1,578.
