A California appeals court on Tuesday declined a petition asking it to review a case in which a security guard received benefits for an injury he suffered after chasing an unruly patron out of a bus terminal in contradiction of his employer’s instructions.
Abraham Alex was an unarmed security guard for All Nation Security Services Inc. and worked at the Greyhound terminal in downtown Sacramento. In August 2017, a man walked into the terminal and started swearing at people. After passengers complained, Alex asked the man to leave the terminal.
