Kentucky lawmakers delayed an expected vote Tuesday on a controversial workers' comp reform bill and a much more worker-friendly alternative, to allow time for additional amendments to be filed after the long holiday weekend.
Opposition has been building to the original House Bill 2 by Rep. Adam Koenig, R-Erlanger, which includes increases to disability payments but also caps the duration of benefits on all but the permanently totally disabled to 15 years, and makes other cuts. Lawmakers say their aim is to limit fraud and save money.
