An analysis of inspections by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health found that workplace inspections reduce on-the-job injuries without cutting into profits.The study, “Randomized Government Safety Inspections Reduce Worker Injuries with No Detectable Job Loss,” compared injury rates at 409 work sites that were targeted for a random inspection with 409 sites that were eligible for an inspection, but where an inspection was not performed.
