California workplace safety regulators reminded employers of their obligation to protect workers from the effects of triple-digit temperatures and smoke as some parts of the state are dealing with a heatwave and others the effects of nearby wildfires.
In response to temperatures forecast to exceed 105 degrees in parts of the state including Sacramento, Fresno and eastern parts of the Bay Area, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health posted a reminder about its heat illness prevention standard for all outdoor work sites.
