The Kentucky Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that Gov. Andy Beshear did not exceed his authority in issuing a series of executive orders relating to the COVID-19 emergency, including one that created a presumption that the disease is occupational for specified workers.
“The governor’s orders were, and continue to be, necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of all Kentucky citizens,” the high court’s unanimous decision reads.
