Employer Fined $16,895 for Electrocution

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health fined a Santa Maria company $16,895 after one worker was killed and another injured when a pump hoist contacted a live 12,000-volt power line. Cesar Montelongo-Pulido, 21, was electrocuted June 6 and Daniel Moreno, 25, was severely injured when a machine the two were using to place a pump at the bottom of a well contacted an overhead powerline.
