Dog Day Care Facility to Pay $50,000 for Violating Whistleblower Protections

The U.S. Department of Labor announced that a dog day care facility in Boise, Idaho, was ordered to pay $50,000 for firing two employees who raised workplace safety concerns about the risk of COVID-19. Two workers at House of Hounds said they were fired after raising concerns about a co-worker who was awaiting COVID-19 test results. The department said its investigation determined that after voicing their concerns, the two workers were told to finish what they were doing and clock out. They were then removed from the company’s social media platform and did not receive new work schedule...
