Great American Buys Service Lloyds Nonsubscription Book

Great American Insurance Group said Tuesday that it has purchased Service Lloyds Insurance Co.'s nonsubscription business in Texas, bringing $5 million to $7 million gross written premium from employers that opt out of the state's voluntary workers' compensation system. Great American said it has provided primary indemnity coverage for nonsubscribing employers since 2009. In 2012, it purchased Employers Comp Associates Inc., which has offered alternative coverage to nonsubscribing employers for 20 years.
