Dr. Philip Sobol started serving his 21-month sentence for his role in the spinal surgery kickback scheme at Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, court records show.
Sobol, who pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge and admitted to receiving $5.2 million in kickbacks for referring patients to Pacific Hospital, turned himself in Monday. He is being held at the federal correctional institution in Lompoc, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ online inmate locator.
