NY Gas Station Owner Defrauds Fund of $600K

Musa Eljamal, 57, of Ardsley in Westchester County, New York, pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony charges of defrauding the state of nearly $600,000 by paying employees "off the books". Eljamal owns more than 20 gas stations, convenience stores and car washes.In addition, Courtesy Mobil Inc., which is controlled by Eljamal, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony insurance fraud and fraudulent practices over the last nine years.Eljamal's businesses, operating in the Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties, reportedly do $50 million a year in business.Investigat...
