A sting operation Monday in Sacramento County caught 15 alleged unlicensed contractors out of 16 who showed up to bid on home-improvement projects, the Contractors State License Board said.
A task force from the CSLB and the county district attorney's office invited the 16 contractors to a home in the Carmichael area to bid on various jobs: landscaping and masonry to concrete, building a fence and painting. The purpose of the two-day sting operation was to highlight the dangers to consumers who hire unlicensed workers, and to educate unlicensed workers about California laws.
