A Baton Rouge businessman who installed alarms has been arrested and charged with 52 counts of workers' compensation fraud and other insurance crimes, the Louisiana State Police reported.
State police last week booked Troy J. Rembert, 43, of Baton Rouge after uncovering evidence that the business owner faked insurance documents sent to the office of the state fire marshal, according to a news release.
Investigators with the insurance fraud unit allege that Rembert was concealing the fact he failed to provide worker's compensation coverage for at least 38 employees over a four-year period.
