Most telemedicine services for injured federal workers, including physical therapy and occupational therapy, do not need to be pre-authorized, the federal Office of Workers' Compensation Programs announced.
“Authorized providers may provide routine medical care through telemedicine (when that care is associated directly with one or more accepted conditions), without pre-authorization,” reads a bulletin posted by Antonio Rios, director of Federal Employees' and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation. “This includes physical and occupational therapy.”
