Indiana government agencies would be precluded from specifying minimum experience ratings when soliciting bids or entering into contracts, under legislation introduced Monday.
House Bill 1159, by Rep. Matt Lehman, R-Berne, would prohibit a provision requiring employers to have or maintain a specified experience rating for bids that are entered into, issued, amended or renewed after June 30.
While the bill would prohibit mandating minimum experience ratings, it includes a provision that expressly allows consideration of an employer’s experience rating when awarding a contract.
