Travelers Net Income Dips 23% Amid Stable Revenues

The Travelers Cos. on Thursday reported a 23% dip in net income during the third quarter, down to $716 million from $928 million during the same period last year. Profits were down 20% for the first nine months of the year: Travelers reported net income of $2.07 billion in the third quarter vs. $2.57 billion for the same period of 2015. The carrier's total revenues were up 1% to $6.96 billion in the third quarter, compared to $6.8 billion in the prior-year quarter.
