Workers’ compensation carrier W.R. Berkley Corp. reported a 21 percent increase in its net workers’ compensation writings in the first quarter of 2016, the company reported on Tuesday.
Overall workers’ comp writings in the first there months of the year increased to $458.3 million. Including its other lines of insurance — liability, commercial auto and professional liability — the company’s net premiums written climbed to $1.66 billion in the first quarter, compared with $1.57 billion in the same period of 2015.
