Utah lawmakers are sending Gov. Gary Herbert a bill that would direct into the Uninsured Employers’ Fund any money left over after the state second injury fund pays off its liabilities.
The Senate voted 25-0 on Thursday to pass House Bill 56, by Rep. James A. Dunnigan, R-Taylorsville. The House of Representatives voted 72-0 to pass the bill on Jan. 30.
The bill would take any money remaining when the Employers’ Reinsurance Fund is done paying all claims and transfer it to the Uninsured Employers’ Fund to pay benefits for workers whose employers were illegally uninsured....
