Senators Amend Bill to Scale Back Proposed Hospital Worker Presumption

Legislation that would create a presumption that certain conditions are compensable for hospital workers was amended to remove provisions to include coverage for cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder and respiratory diseases. Senate Bill 567, filed jointly by Sens. Anna Caballero, D-Salinas, and Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, would create a presumption of compensability for certain injuries suffered by those who provide direct patient care in an acute care hospital.
