The 75% decline in prescription drug payments per medical claim in California was the best observed among the 28 states the Workers Compensation Research Institute studied for a new flash report on pharmaceuticals.
WCRI reports that prescription drug payments decreased by 15% or more in 22 of 28 states from the first quarter of 2018 to the first quarter of 2019. California had the largest decrease at 75%, while Connecticut saw the largest increase at 27%, WCRI said.
